Microsoft Creates "Cashback" Program

Live Search is a bit of a misnomer, it's neither alive nor search worthy. It's share of users amongst the big three has dwindled to below 10% - Google is leaving both Yahoo! and Microsoft in its wake. To try and counter that, Live Search now has cashback incentives on products in its index. Are users really driven by incentives enough that Microsoft will see a remarkable upturn in users? Phone Keyboards and Searchers Using Predictive Query Suggestions

With the popularity of cell phones and the mobile web, the chances are that someone could be looking at your website on a device no bigger than the palm of your hand. Let's explore an all too familiar scenario. You're broken down and you need a car so you search for it on your phone. But wait, the nearest place you find doesn't have a website that is accessible to a mobile device! You've just missed out on some revenue and word of mouth advertising. Bill Slawski goes one step further by suggesting that search query suggestions are a great way for mobile users to find your site (just make sure it's optimized and mobile accessible first).
